      I know that it is not popular to do that way… But Zbrush is my general modelling App since I learned Zmodeler… I really can not go to other apps..

      Autodesk are satan. I was a mudbox user but they abandoned that software for like 5 years or more finally pushing me to use zbrush. No regrets.

      Blender? No studios use it and none plan to. Fine to dip your toes in 3D.
      Houdini? Long way to go from being a good generalist 3D app.

      That leaves us with Maya/Max and to a certain extend Modo. If you care about making a living from this, you better know one of these, otherwise you're in for a rude awakening.
      Zbrush isn't going to be replacing Maya anytime soon as a general platform for studios to build their tools around, probably never…and I doubt Pixologic is aiming for that. At least with the way Zbrush looks currently.

      I'm just saying that these softwares are innovating every year while autodesk seems to be stagnating. I also heard from a podcast where they interviewed an X-autodesk developer where he confirmed that autodesk has downsized most of its Media and entertainment division and as a max user I think that's quite alarming to hear coming from someone from the inside. So I doubt there will be anything significant to look forward to or worth investing time to in learning autodesk softwares. I decided to just go balls deep in learning houdini and wait for blender 2.8 to use as my main modeling package.

      The way Autodesk conducts itself i think they're the ones in for a rude awakening one of these days. Remember when everyone in the graphics industry used quark? Of course AD aren't relying on a single package for their business but they're always at risk of losing a significant revenue stream if they continue being arrogant, complacent or downright incompetent.

      +chamade166 Blender actually is used by some studios and some allow their Artists that depends on how flexible their pipelines, the new 2.8 version is a whole new upgrade that will target small/mid studios , and more studios in europe, Asia are actually turning to blender especially France, Germany, india..etc, hopefully more in the US will join, blender goal is not to replace anyone but provide a better solution for Artists just like what Zbrush trying to do, the next projects are as big as this new upgrade like everything nodes, Animation 2020,interactive mode..etc this will put blender in a good position…if Autodesk keep this crappy attitude towards their products and users they'll lose big chunck of the industry to blender ,zbrush and houdini..etc because u can feel the passion these devs have for their product, they just need more support from big studios.

      Autodesk is feeling safe since they have monoploy on the industries and most studios use their products also they got ton of money unlike other softwares and they do more than just selling them..etc that's where their position is at the top and won't be easy to take them down unless they go bankrupt or something…others have to offer better solution for Artists and especially studios then maybe just maybe things will start to change for better.

    So, the video was streamed at 720p and upscaled to 1080p. It will just stutter more often on slower connections for the same quality as 720p.

    can this camera be imported and exported? because i think it would be soo benefical to VFX artists who have to recreate faces and such. i think also anyone who does photogrammetry and wants to refine their capture.

    now you just need to convert zspheres to bones and we'd be golden.

    Everything look great but one complain I have is why does everything has to be a plugin. Even the general day to day tools. Why can't each tools be in respective section? It just breaks the productivity and learning curve.

    The color plug in though, do you click a color and then paint? Nope, you click a color, then click set color, then paint. Still an extra step that doesn’t need to be there. At the very least add a checkbox "Auto Set Color". Get rid of that extra step.

      ​ Amit Kolay u get 20% discount in these kind of events which is a great deal if u already don't own zbrush, if they go with subscription based then free upgrades will be stopped also that means they have to push small updates every few months, i think no one likes that in zbrush community, ZBrush is worth every penny for serious artist.

    Everything is great!
    But… Can we have some nice curves with control points ( like ones in 3D Coat) please ? Cos sometimes working with curves precisely is a real headache.

      Totally agree. Working with Zbrush curves is frustrating as hell. I swap into 3D Coat on occasion just for the perfect curve control.

    I love ZBrush it is a wonderful 3d program but you guys at pixologic have to program a measuring number scale inside, so that modelers can accurately measure and properly size their work, I mean come on dudes every 3d cad program in the world has that built in. I'm still waiting. Please tell the developers to add this feature Respectfully… I love ZBrush

    Love Zbrush but wonder why Zbrush seems to have embraced only Keyshot instead of opening it more to just any 3rd party renderer, especially gpu renderers like Octane or Vray.

      Zbrush is not a Full 3d app so renderers like Octane or Vray won't work on it , you need an external app to do it, so they partnered with keyshot since it's simple and easy to use for rendering and doesn't need million options to tweak for your final zbrush renders that's why also you can export any zbrush mesh to any 3d app and with GOZ it's even easier that's why.

      that's the job of houdini and blender, zbrush already have put mudbox to the ground 🙂 now it's worth 10$ and yet no profesional will use it, maybe some students who wants to test sculptng before going full on zbrush hahah

      +Zinogg Yeah i ran into Mudboxes limitations just sculpting a few rocks. But i don't see why Zbrush can't do what Maya and Max does. There is another new program dedicated to animation out that could perhaps do that job to replace that job.

    I very much love Zbrush!! But there are a few features where is isn't the best. One feature I would very much like to see is a flawless clipping tool that leaves no artifacts behind. Blender and {especially) 3D Coat have absolutely flawless clipping tools. Also 3D Coat has a shadowbox tool (called "sketch") that hands-down puts Zbrush's to shame… But one thing at a time. To any developer reading this, better clipping tools would totally rock! Thanks.

    As solution for the clip, maybe you guys can take the curve drawn by the user and treat the curve as a mesh surface with infinite forward size and boolean subtract in the background to create clean concave cuts, or cuts that pushes a bigger surface to a smaller one to prevent the thin mesh problem, or the hollow shell results.

    make zbrush load fast, now it takes up to 15 -20 seconds to load which could be better, blender and houdini load really fast less than 10 seconds and they both not only have 3d but also do other disciplines, and they do it really good…because you are on the top of the industry doesn't mean you can go lazy and make small updates even Autodesk is trying to speed up maya and max load time because others already did it years ago and now they are a potential threat to their position.

    Pixologic should work with the Blender guys, look at the awesome work they are doing, the new UI and features are amazing and they are small team with less resources,even Autodesk with all the tons of revenus and developers they couldn't stop the wild horse, i think the future will be bright for the underdogs.

    why i dont have that folder button in my newly downloaded Zbrush 2018. I dont have that peel uv plugin. I couldn't find that on pixologic website, either.
