    Awesome webinar!
    There's 2 problems with GPU:
    – AI Denoiser crashes in any scene in Production Rendering w/ GPU ( Windows 10 Build:17134 / GTX 980Ti driver v. 398.11 )
    – The whole PC lags when rendering with GPU to the point i cant even watch youtube ( Octane Render / Redshift doesn't do that ) also GPU Low thread priority enabled and CPU disabled – doesn't help at all.

So..When we do interior designs, what advantage does the Vray Next have when compared to Unreal Engine 4? The later is absolutely faster? My lap top does not have a decent CPU…

Please share the specs that you used for these test scenes. I think everyone (including me) would like to know this to compare performance results with our rigs. Thanks.

From what I remember, he uses 1080Ti for the GPU part. I don't recall the rest.

Arnold with AMD Threadripper is a better choice…cheaper more versatile & easy memory upgrade down the line (GPU memory = no upgrade) & Arnold already comes free with newer Max/Maya's. I'm not dissing Vray though it's a nice renderer but it's kinda falling out of favor now… why buy Vray when Arnold comes free.. & you can use the same Arnold license with any Arnold plugin..

Not much…. I expected a bit more. Chaos Group doing to many things at the same time. Better focus on your main tool before will be to late. In 2018 you still present Auto Exposure as a feature , is fking insulting? No full support of ALL vray materials on GPU? No serious depelopement of the gpu and trying to unifiy the 2 render engines? Vdb was news many years ago but vdb preview, as a "new" feature? No word about brute force improvements, you still using same old fake gi solutions, now, in 2018? To me it seams that everything is just keeping up the hype and no real improvements are happening anymore. Sad to see such a great company going the way of lazy ass coders who do 1-3 minor updates every year, like autodesk or adobe.

I'm a big fan of chaosgroup software, I have all of them. But, I do understand your gripes. I've only used GPU on one live project and it saved my life. Most times, I start with CPU rendering, then as an idea, I'll flick over to GPU to see if I can improve the render speed, and I hit a ton of 'no can do's'…….

I can understand that GPU rendering is a game of playing catch-up, and hopefully that'll be sooner than later. But I've invested in a lot of GPU kit and find it's mostly redundant.

Hi! I've just one question; why did you put, for the pbr material, the Roughness and Height maps in a VrayHdri? Is it really necessary?
    Nice presentation btw!

I have tried the new auto exposure and balance on several scenes, they work very badly, infact horrible, to say the least they are f*cking frustrating!!! I have a lot of scenes from 2016 and 2017 where I use 3ds Max Physical cam, I do a reset on all scenes, change the cameras to Vray Cams and use auto functions, the scenen all are way to overexposed and very blue. I usally use vray sky as lighting in the scenes (the sun is turned off). But even when using HDRI's same sh!t. I would like to be able to download the interior scenes You are using, to test them. Because something serious is wrong with the software, since it does not work on all scenes.
