      Well I was thinking the same. Pretty much probably now that ZBRush works like 3D-Coat sculpting (not the same tech but the same logic of constant retopology). Good news.

      Unfortunately it is not exactly like 3D Coat… When you unite one end of a mesh with another (to create closed ring) they won't merge. I don't know other ways to merge it besides dynameshing it, which will destroy all small details done with Sculptris brushes…

    When will you make the rotation of the camera relative to the object? How many years you will need to make feature which is already everywhere except ZBrush? Your stupid interface is really annoying, especially when you work in multiple programs at the same time. For example, when you switch between maya, max and zbrush.

    ….is there any way to turn on info on the side of these deformer cones? Color coding is not enough for learning, and even experienced artists will easily forget which is responsible for taper, and which is for other def. Not to mention they are rotating in space with camera to further confuse the user. Small font naming close to them (turnable) would be a great help. Amazing features but could be better exposed to the user. UI Minimalism is great, but too much minimalism is makes stuff unreadable.

      Agree on that, aside that everything is reeeeally great and amazing, and I also love Zbrush's UI, memorising cones suck. but it got esaies since I took time to carefully look at descriptions, every time I was using them.after some time it got in muscle memory. but still it can be much better, it even can have floating sliders with texts…

    Oh Wow:). so Beautiful! I am curious. I do a lot of work from Zbrush To Substance painter to unreal engine 4. Before I leave zbrush to Substance painter I need to tesselate and uv unwrap my models. It looks like a lot of geometry might pile up around different areas of the model. Would I still need to eventually tesselate everything so all the geometry would be tesselate everywhere or! How would I get this model into substance painter? I needed to uv unwrap my models and to do that everything would need to be tessellated. Let’s say I was bringing a head model into substance painter. A lot of the geometry around the forehead would be small and the eyes might be really dense. Would I be able to uv unwrap everything or would I need to tesselate everything before I could do that bringing everything back to the same polycount.

    No no ….no. Zbrush transform to 3DMax. Oh my gooooood! Stop do it! More useless tools, more tools for hardsurface and "robots" modeling. Pixologic need new ideas and new people. Zbrush need wall thickness measuring tools, fix retopo tools and fix UV export, add work with polygons tool (cut poligons) and work with polygons ( no hardsurface) . Now Zbrush is soft for modellers , but NOT for sculptors.

      Alternatively, if you don't like the hard surface options, don't use them. There are plenty of us who DO like them. I will agree that texturing and UV need an overhaul though.

    I learned to do semi advanced stuff in 3dCoat in about 2 days. I learned to do semi advanced stuff in Mudbox in 1 day. I quit Zbrush in 2007 after 3 weeks of constant headaches. It's not just the UI .. it's the whole frigging workflow. I've been doing 3d graphics since I was 11 years old. Even the DOS version of 3d Studio was much much more intuitive than Zbrush ever was. I'm sculptor, 3d artist and a CAD designer with 20 years of experience .. a pro in 3dsmax, 3d Coat (lol), Siemens NX, Photoshop, AfterEffects.. got average skills in Premiere, Illustrator, Autocad, Rhinoceros 3d, Fusion 360, Inventor… so yea I simply can't handle bullshit martian thinking .. same goes to Blender (the whole thing is a joke), Alias (anyone who has ever needed class A surfacing understands).. could I learn Zbrush? Yeah if I would erase all of my brain and experience and replace it with dog's barf. "Zbrush It's a super powerful sculpting program with the most horrible workflow on the planet".

      I agree with you that the UI is really bad design on many levels. Don't let the ridiculous fanboys annoy you. The program is "still" great though, which is really annoying =) Fanboys are a danger for future development of any program, they guide the developers wrong by simply not giving good criticism. Looking at the comments it's completely obvious that you are not alone in feeling that the UI is bad. There are many many comments about it.

      Everybody with 2 working neurons does not have a problem agreeing that Zbrush UI and workflow are pretty terrible 😉 But there are also commercial reasons for it which is something people found out only recently. It's the fact that once you invest so much time into an app that you learn its horrendous workflows you have a hard time switching to anything else. And you stay a customer basically forever. It's a bizarre situation similar to Autodesk Alias which is the all around best software for car design and people who started with it almost start crying when they have to switch to ICEM once they start working in one of the big car companies which use it.

    What if you WANT the projected primitive to act in a subtractive mode even when it is further inside? As shown, it only acts negative when you have moved it mostly OUTSIDE. (about 1:02:10 or so)

    I’d like these project-primitive features to be a part of live booleans, so I could “project” any custom mesh (not only parametric primitives) to my model and adjust the blending between them.

    Hi guys! Really love what you've introduced in Zbrush 2018, but there is one thing that I would really love to see, and I don't think I'm the only one:). Many artists – myself included – use ultrawide monitors for multitasking. Most programs support windows layouts, so that you can just snap the program into a portion of the screen, and it scales to fit that area. This is great for switching back and forth between fullscreen, and other layouts of your choice. I'm not sure about the terminology, but I hope you get my point. On a DellU3415W, you can split and modify the windows layout to your liking, and I'm sure other manufacturers have a similar system. Maya supports it, Substance Painter supports it, Photoshop supports it, and so on. Do you think you could look into this for a future update? This would be really great, especially since Zbrush has such a customizable interface, and it's a pain having to scale everything to the perfect size every time you switch from fullscreen. Pease out:)

    I wish they improve the texturing part of zbrush ; a better non buggy layers system , a Uv projection system other than unwrapping automatic UVs , editing UVs , a spotlight projection that is somehow non dependent on the distance from the mesh to get a high res look .

    Absolutely no idea how they are switching between different objects in a Project Primitive group.. the manual doesn't even mention how to jump back and forth between different primitives. Arg. He just casually switches inside ZBrush in the video but no earthly idea what shortcut or click combination does it.

    when I go to smooth the elastic curve, it doesn't smooth the curve; it just smooths the brush's geometry. Am I doing something wrong here?
    Similarly when I hold control it just masks the geometry, it doesn't rotate the curve 😛

    Is there a easy way create white polygroups on a whole object in zbrush? Without painstakingly doing it manually with the alt+click. I like to use the Remesh by Union(1:19:10), but I can't find the simple solution.
