+Smok4V I'm actually curious as to how people will like videos like this one. If there is interest i will make more, and i will try to cover more advanced topics.

+Smok4V Hehe .. let's see if more people think the same way. If that proves to be the case then i'll do my best to make more "gold" 🙂

(No one was hurt making this joke, so don't get any ideas about throwing hate or racism remarks where there is none)

+Denis Keman LMAO, My bad, I just hate to see channels like yours constantly being bashed and criticized by small minded people. I didn't know he was your friend, Sorry about that

+ePlays It's cool man, but the way i see it is that i share my videos to everyone for free, so if anyone has anything that they don't like they can voice it here, and if it's a valid point i will consider it and act upon it and hopefully ramify the issue.

Why does almost no one use extrude on edges for adding support loops? It's even faster and more accurate than the swift loop tool.

    • OrangeAnimation 12/01/2016
      Rispondi

+Geworg Hovhannisyan Edge extrusion is great for when you want to add new polygons, but when you want to add extra edges on already existing geometry that is when you need to use the Swift Loop

any tips for setting up shortcuts or placing tools on the side like you have here?

    • OrangeAnimation 28/08/2016
      Rispondi

The shortcuts are all about what you need to use, as for shortcuts on the side i think you are addressing the buttons that V-Ray places there once you install it. So as you can see i really haven't modded my UI all that much.

Hello Mr. Keman, thanks for this great and very clear video. Using the spline sample, was the right thing to do! Somethimes, we can loose track of this simple concepts and really create a mess of our models.

After converting Box in editable poly, (Poly Selection) I want edges both horizontally & vertically… Can you tell me how to do it

  14. OrangeAnimation 08/02/2017
    Rispondi

Hello Denis, first of all, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge with us. I´ve seen almost all of your videos and you´re just a master.

I´m kind of new in 3dmax because I´m an architect and usually we introduce into 3d world with autocad and I´m so used to the offset comand to do a lot of things.

Is there any way to do something like that with objets and edges in 3dmax?

For example, in a simple box, can I make a copy (offset) of an internal edge or a loop of egdes at certain distance to any side?
that would be very helpfull to create more realistic and precise models.

Thaks a lot for your time reading this, and I hope you can help me improve my skills.

I want ask you , how can you texture model after turbosmooth ? can you texture for example low poly model and then you click edit poly and set model with texture and after use turbosmooth ?is it coorect?

    • OrangeAnimation 25/04/2017
      Rispondi

Just so you are clear .. you do the uv unwrapping AFTER you put on the turbosmooth. If you do the unwrap first and then put on a turbosmooth you will end up with stretched UV space.

you're welcome ^^ btw i have a problem with my 3dmax. so i saved my work last time and so when i reopened it, i cant see my forms in the perspective box but in the other sub boxes, i can see it from the top, front and left views. then i when i highlighted in the perspective box, it was found that my forms were all and completely shaded black, that i cant even see the lines anywhere. how can i make it that the forms return to their original respective colours that would enable me to see the lines of the forms?

    • OrangeAnimation 23/07/2017
      Rispondi

you probably have no material applied to the model and have black color set for the viewing in the viewport. Apply a material to it and Press F4 for the lines to show up

Just give it some time as it takes a bit of adapting on where the options are hidden. I've also been trying out Modo but not Blender, screw that right click is left click idea they have in there 🙂 joking aside, rigging in Blender seems interesting and more fun then doing it in Maya.

    • OrangeAnimation 12/10/2017
      Rispondi

Lol yes that may be weird if you're new to blender but trust me, if you want to model really fast, I don't think there's a better software than blender, my clients require .max format but I still model in blender than export to max

    • OrangeAnimation 12/10/2017
      Rispondi

When it comes to speed it's all about how proficient you are in the software. I'm pretty fast when it comes to modeling in Max compared to anything else, but that simply because it's my primary software

    • OrangeAnimation 12/10/2017
      Rispondi

Denis Keman I really can't tell yet because I'm new to max but for example I seeing your tutorial to figure out a way to add loops in a fast way in max (great that you mentioned adding a hotkey for swift loop) in blender you only press Ctrl+R and use the mouse wheel to select how many loops you want to add. I was surprised that you have to select the rings and click connect in max :p

Yeah i've been told that on a different video .. it's actually the software that "cleans up" the sound. For some reason it amplifies the mouth smacking sound and annoys everyone 🙂

your method actually is not ideal. " your hole " looked better because the first mesh had champher, which it is not ideal way for sub-D. "your hole " had the right way to add supporting loops around it. so no i disagree with your method.
