3DS Max 2016 New Features

This is a 1 hour presentation showing some of the key New features in 3DS Max 2016. Some of these new features are 360 cloud rendering, iray and mental ray rendering, setting up a new template, importing and working with .stp files, open subdiv, building compounds in the Max Creation Graph, working with Alembic files, quick fix for missing textures, Physical cameras, the camera sequencer, Duel Quantonium Skinning, Delta mush, and much more.

      +Dainius G Delta mush was made with MCG and is free. DQ skinning is a new feature of 3ds Max 2016.

    At 09:00 you mention there's now proper support for higher resolution monitors. Could you please tell us where you got that information from? Because there's no proper support for 4K and higher monitors. Respectfully.

    Is this video supposed to be a joke?
    V-ray icons to the left suggest that iray and mental ray are not particularly good.
    A good segment showcasing MAYA features such as "Bifrost"?
    The Crew trailer was not created using 3ds max 2016 and is heavily reliant on 3rd-party applications such as… FumeFX? Insert non-autodesk product anyway.

    Even in this demonstration the scene explorer interface (the panel one the left side) is completely broken. After loading a new scene (at 14:30) it is resized by itself in a very strange way, looks weird. At 24:15 (after loading a new scene again) it distorts even harder – you can't see the scene explorer at all! You can see only a dark grey empty space where the the interface should be. The same behavior is in 3ds max 2015. This is so sad 🙁
